Redecorating and preparing for Baby

Well its been quite a while since I wrote. Mainly because we have been getting ready for Baby Oceanne to arrive.

We had lots of things to do to prepare for a baby and that includes finding a more practical space for the birds etc.

Here are some pictures of my precious birds :)

Happy Birthday to Dusty

Well January is the year of Dusty's birthday. I know I got him when he was a baby, just can't pinpoint the exact date other then its mid January sometime.
So I dedicate this to Dusty's Birthday. He is 8 Years old now and still quite the signer that he was as a baby.
He still loves to walk around the couch , almost like he was stalking prey and signing his little heart out to anyone that will hear him.
He also still loves to try to steal your food. I remember one day, little bugger managed to steal a french fry from my hand and fly away with it. I did get to him before he ate it "thank god".
So Dusty, Hope you have many more years with the family and we love you very much :).
Love mom

Flocon's Progress

I am glad to report that Flocon has made great progress since I got him in March 2010.

He is so sweet, he is still very nervous but at least he does not try to fly away like he used to.

I noticed that recently his tail feather's are growing and he has not broken them yet. He is starting to look so much better and so much whiter. Its amazing how he looks like a giant snow flake sometimes, especially after he cleaned himself pretty good after bath time.

I will post pictures once he lets me, that bird has a fatuation with my camera and constantly tries to get to it.

If I leave it close to him, he will snuggle up to it. I think he found a lust object with my camera which is quite funny.

As promised, here are a few pictures that I manage to get :

Silk's Accident

Today Silk decided to play a game of who can hit harder with a toy, somehow he managed to wedge his wing in the toy and hurt himself seriously. Within 10 mins, it was an emergency to the vet's office.

The good news is that he will heal and so will his wing but it will take some time, he is not allowed to fly now for at least 2 weeks so the wound don't open up.

what a scary experience. and of course toy is now in the garbage, I think I will stick to birdKabobs.

Here are pictures taken after the vet visit. I am just glad that he is back to playing with his toy's. But he will be watched so that he does not poke around his wound.
